The Assure Method

The assure model is helpful for designing courses using different kinds of medis. The model emphasizes: teaching to students with different learning styles adn it is also a contructivist type of learning where students are required to interact with their environment and not passively receive information. The six steps are :
(A) Analysis of learners which includes skills, styles, prior knowledge, attitude, age, and gender.
(S)Statement of the objectives which deals with clear, sound, systematic, observable behavior.
(S) Selection of media and materials has to do with relevant, bridges new technology with existing materials.
(U) Utilization of materials: interesting, appropriate, conditions and equipment.
(R) Reuire learner performance:  deals with practice, feedback, activities, authentic assessment
(E) Evaluation: revise, improve to achieve objectives.
In asalysis of learners, teachers can examine learner characteristics.
In statement of objectives you can state instructional objectives for the learner and also design instructional strategiesso that each learner can master objectives.
In the selection of media you can plan instructional message and delivery.
For required learners performance you can develop evaluation instruments to assess objectives.
Ultimately in the utilization of materials you can select resources to support instruction and learning activities.

Gallstone

This article is very informative, as the comments from several patients, especially that it has occured to one of my family member. During the summer holiday she started having severe pain in her upper right abdomen. The first episode began gradually with a burning pain and a lot of pressure beneath her ribs on the right side, straight down from her breast. The pain and pressure got worse over the course of an hour until she can hardly move or take deep breath. She mentioned it to the doctor and he said that it was probably indigestion. She continued having pain in the middle of the nights. She would feel as if she needed to go to the bathroom. Days have passed and the pain grew even more. She went back to another doctor and had an ultrasound performed, and they confirmed that she had gallstones. She was referred to a surgeon. We are puzzled as to how these stones are formed. So thequestion is:
Is it due to the tap water or unhealthy diet or do we all have stones in us?
